Internet Explorer remembers Web pages you have visited in its internal history directory. You may have noticed that as you type web addresses into IE's address bar, a list of previously viewed addresses appears in a drop down menu. By using the up and down arrows on your keyboard, you can select a previously viewed page without having to type in its complete URL.
Over time, the drop down menu can become congested with a large amount of previously viewed sites. However, you can delete the contents of the History folder if you wish.
To clear the history of previously visited Web pages, follow the process below:
1. Click the Internet Explorer icon on the desktop to open up Internet Explorer.
2. Click the Tools selection in the menu at the top of the IE window, then click Internet Options

3. In the Internet Options pop up box, click the Clear History box as shown below:

4. A pop-up box will ask you to confirm that you wish to clear the history of previously visited Web pages. Click Yes, then OK button to close the Internet Options box and to return to Internet Explorer.
